Back on February 20, LG Canada announced that the LG G Flex would be coming to Canada, exclusively through Rogers and that it would be available sometime this Spring. Being the only network in Canada to carry the G Flex is quite a coup for Rogers and coupled to their network, it will be able to take advantages of the fastest LTE in Canada. Well, it looks like Spring has sprung and our sources tells us that it will arrive at Rogers on Thursday, April 3, for $199.99 for a two-year term and $649.99 for an outright purchase. Ross Snow, vice-president Mobile Communications, LG Canada said in February:
“As the first curved smartphone on the Canadian market, the LG G Flex is cutting-edge from the inside out, offering Rogers customers a unique smartphone experience. The G Flex further establishes LG as a premium brand with a product that is poised to reinvigorate excitement in the smartphone category for 2014.”
The curved body of the LG G Flex conforms nicely against your face while making phone calls (we can still do that with a smartphone) and offers a panoramic view when in the horizontal position to watch a movie, video or even look at pictures in your Gallery. The curved P-OLED display isa 6-inch HD with a resolution of 1280 x 720. Inside it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.26GHz with an Adreno 330 GPU running at 450MHz – adding lots of power for gaming and movie action. It is loaded with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It has a 13MP main camera and a 2.1MP front-facing camera (ffc) for video chatting and selfies. All of this is powered by a 3,500mAh curved battery and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Its dimensions are 160.5 X 81.6 x 7.9-8.7mm and weighs in at 177 grams.
John Boynton, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Rogers Communications said:
“Rogers customers always have access to the latest and greatest smartphones, and we look forward to bringing them a new device experience with the LG G Flex. The G Flex will reach its full potential on our LTE network, offering customers blazing fast speeds that keep them connected and entertained.”
Please let us know on our Google+ Page if you will one of the first to pick up your LG G Flex on the Roger’s network and how you feel about the curved screen and design of the device – we would love to hear your opinions.
