Android Gamer Weekly 03/23/14: OUYA, Dead Trigger 2, Asphalt 8, Darkstone RPG

OUYA No Longer Requires Devs To Attach Free Demo Of Content Submissions

One things that was a pretty big push for OUYA when it started was that it would allow gamers to try out every single game for free before they bought it. Literally every single game had a free demo that allowed you to play a portion of the game, so you could get a nice little test to see how things played, like controls and gameplay and such. Now, along with a few of the other changes OUYA has been announcing to the way it will soon be handling things, developers will no longer be required to submit free demos along with the games they make for the OUYA console. This is good for the developers, but could end up bad for the gamers, who might have chosen to stick with OUYA because of the fact that they could try things for free first. OUYA and the developers have every right to want to make the demos optional, but how will it fare ultimately in the end?

Dead Trigger 2 Finally Gets The Arena Of Death Update

This certainly wasn't the first major update to Dead Trigger 2 and it definitely won't be the last. It is however a good bet that the Arena of Death update is one of the most anticipated. Fans have been waiting on the arena mode that was so popular in the original dead trigger to pop up in the sequel, and its finally here, and trust us.. it's big and bad and full of zombie ass kicking action. The Arena of Death will have you fending off waves of zombies with evolving AI, so that mean they get stronger, faster, and more dangerous with each wave. They learn, so you'll have to think on your feet before you end up on the floor. The new update comes with two new locations, as well as new zombies: The Nurse zombie, the contruction worker zombie, and the prostitute zombie. The update is live and ready for you, so if you're still playing Dead Trigger 2 get in on the action as soon as you can for all sorts of cool things.

Asphalt 8: Airborne Gets New Great Wall Update For Plenty Of More High Octane Racing Action

Dead Trigger 2 wasn't the only game to get an update this week. Asphalt 8, one of the most popular racing games Android just received a new update as well for tons more new content. The Great Wall update adds in six new tracks to race in. All six tracks allow for player discovery of the Great Wall of China, with 30 new career events within 8 new seasons, and some new vehicles added to the line-up. The new vehicles will be added over time, so not all of them were added in as of now but we do know that some awesome cars are on their way like the 2014 McLaren P1. The multiplayer matchups have been tweaked in this update, allowing for skill to have more of an impact on who you race it seems like. Gameloft has also updated the leaderboard to be based on player activity, so the more active you are, the better or more involved your standings will be. The update is live and ready to go.
