About three weeks from today, Samsung will be holding an Unpacked event, likely to announce the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Gear 2 at this event. The Unpacked event is taking place in Barcelona on Monday, February 24th at 8pm CET. Samsung will also be holding a smaller event in NYC where they will be livestreaming the event. So all of you can watch as well. It looks like Samsung won’t be doing a Broadway show again this year like they did for the Galaxy S4 last year.
We’re expecting Samsung to show off the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Gear 2. Now they could announce some other products, but those are likely to be the stars of the show. And this takes place on the first day of Mobile World Congress, which is kind of weird. As Samsung usually likes to do their event just before or after Mobile World Congress so all the press has their eyes on them. Although all eyes will still be on Samsung as I don’t think anyone else will be announcing anything as exciting as the Galaxy S5 or the Galaxy Gear 2.
Right now we’re looking at a 5.25-inch AMOLED 2560×1440 resolution display, 3GB of RAM, Exynos 6 (64-bit, octa-core processor) or a Snapdragon 805 depending on the region, 16MP camera on the back with a 3.2MP front-facing shooter, Android 4.4 and a 3200mAh battery inside. Which sounds like an absolute beast. We’re also looking at a redesigned Touchwiz apparently. As we’ve been noticing from recent leaks, it looks like Samsung is going a bit more flat, in terms of design. Google has also asked them to tone it down a bit in terms of their skin. However we may not see that until the Galaxy Note 4. But one thing’s for sure, we’ll find out in about three weeks when Samsung announces the Galaxy S5 to the world.
How many of you are excited for the Galaxy S5 to be come official? Who’s ready to throw money at them right now?
