Google has just launched the heavily leaked red Nexus 5. We've been seeing the red Nexus 5 leaked for a couple of weeks now and it's now official, probably for Valentines day. Much like the white Nexus 5, the red version is only red on the back with the earpiece being red. Which actually looks really nice in my opinion.
There was a rumor of other colors coming to the Play Store as well, but so far we just have the red, black and white versions. The 16GB version is still $349, and the 32GB is $399, which makes it a great deal especially if you're looking for a great unlocked phone to go prepaid. If you haven't already you can head over to our review of the Nexus 5 which we published back in November. The red Nexus 5 looks really nice, and I'm sure I'm not the only one tempted to pick one up.
So a red Nexus 5. Certainly not something many of us saw coming before a couple weeks ago when the leaks started. But I'm glad it is here. It's definitely a limited edition, but one that I'm sure will probably sell well. Remember the Nexus 5 features a 5-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, with a 2300mAh battery and either 16GB or 32GB of storage inside. It's also running Android 4.4.2 - KitKat. And since it's a Nexus it'll be getting updates before any other device, or at least it should. We did see the Moto X get the KitKat update before the Nexus 4 did, but only by about a day. The red Nexus 5 is only available at Google Play, but it will still work on Sprint.
