Star Wars: Assault Team Is The New Trading Card Game Coming To Android From Disney

You don't have to live in a galaxy far, far away to be familiar with star wars, and Disney seems to think that there's just not enough Star Wars games on Android. At least, not official ones. And you know what, hey might be right. To help the cause for lack of Galactic battles between the rebels and the empire on our beloved robotic mobile OS, Disney has just announced a new Trading Card Game coming to Android called Star Wars: Assault Team. If you're not a fan of TCG titles, but you are a fan to Star Wars, you may want to at least give this game some thought. Even if that thought only lasts a few minutes.

This new game, since it's a TCG, will have battles between other players or the AI, with turn based combat. There weren't many details about the game, but this is a TCG after all so we can more then be assured that card collecting is obviously in play here. It's unknown how users will collect cards, as well as any details about the cards themselves is also not know at the time. All we really know is that the game in addition to what was listed above is that it's going to have a limited access beta period before its official release comes into play. Besides that, it looks as though you'll be collecting cards that represent characters from the rebel alliance, for use in battle against the empire.

What we want to know is how the multiplayer aspect, if any, is going to pan out, and whether or not there will be any sort of optional game modes. There will most likely be a single player campaign. It would also be interesting to see Disney incorporate something like weekly tournaments to entice players. Until we hear more about the details of the game we'll just have to stare at the pretty pictures and imagine what it would be like to hold the most powerful deck the empire has ever seen. What do you think? Would you play a TCG like Star Wars: Assault Team?
