Samsung Releases their Sochi Winter Olympics App - Only Compatible with Samsung Devices

This morning, Samsung unveiled and launched their app for the Sochi Winter Olympics which are set to begin next month. The app breaks down everything by sport, country and athletes. There's also easy links to schedules. You can also get more information on the event venues in Russia, as well as checking out videos and photo galleries. You can even see which events are wheelchair accessible, which is a pretty big deal, especially for those that are handicapped, and want to go to different events. The app makes it really easy to follow your favorite athletes and sports, which is a good thing.

Right now, the app 'Sochi 2014 WOW' is only available on Samsung devices, but that might change a little bit later once it finishes rolling out. It's available in the Google Play Store, as well as the Samsung App Store. I wouldn't be surprised to see it on the Amazon App Store soon, if it does become available for more than just Samsung devices. Samsung has also added a nice banner link at the bottom of the app, to tell you more about their products.

Samsung says in the app description, that the Sochi Winter Olympics app  is for those looking to experience the Olympic games in Sochi, or those looking to follow along and catch up on all the action from home. I'm hoping Samsung will open it up to more than just Samsung devices soon, because that's going to piss off a lot of people. Especially if there's no other decent Olympics app for the Winter games when they start next month. It's actually a rather nice looking app. I mean it even has a the 'hamburger' slide out menu, which surprised me, but in a good way. Since I don't have a Samsung device handy, to check out the app, I'm wondering if you'll be able to watch live though the app? That would be pretty awesome, I think.

How many of you are going to go and check out the Sochi Winter Olympics app from Samsung? Let us know what you think about it in the comments down below.
