Another day, another Samsung Galaxy S5 concept phone by a Netherlands website of the same name – Samsung Galaxy S5.nl. After reporting on a new concept, just yesterday by Concept Phones, and others during January, we are treated to yet another design from the a creative mind and designer from the Netherlands that they claim takes into account the most recent leaked information about the new Galaxy S5 – a premium metal body and a newer, kinder, TouchWiz.

The designer is taking into account the following specifications on their rendered device – a 5.25-inch Super AMOLED display, with a 2K qHD screen and a 2560 x 1440 resolution. It will include a 64-bit processor, 20MP camera and a 2900mAh battery, with rapid charging technology, tucked inside an aluminum housing and Gorilla Glass 3. It will arrive, out-of-the box with Android 4.4 KitKat, of course, and an updated version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. If our latest leak today is true, the new Samsung Galaxy S5 will be announced in Barcelona on February 23, with the actual launch set for the end of April – a very good timeline that makes sense.
This design keeps the Galaxy S5 very slim and while the case is made from aluminum, it appears to have the faux leather backing that was popular on the Galaxy Note 3, including the stitching pattern. I found the faux stitching to look quite nice on the black version; however, the white did look somewhat “faux” to me. We would have to guess that the back is also some sort of plastic to make it easier to remove and replace – a Samsung and user favorite to allow replacement of the battery and hiding the microSD card. The bezels are also very slim in keeping with the minimalistic approach and adding to the overall slim look of the device.
One thing we do for sure that a new version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI will be a welcomed improvement – while it offers lots of features (some say too many), there are those critics that claim it is slowing down the response time by showing some lag in the screen transitions and a little optimization can never hurt.
The one thing we still do not know is if the new Galaxy S5 will come with a fingerprint scanner or an iris scanner – the latest word is that Samsung is working on improving its overall eye scanning techniques, but is that for its existing features or to add an iris scanner…only time will fully let us know the answer to this question.
