There is quite a buzz going on concerning the new tablets from Samsung, especially the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and also whether or not we would see this new flagship tablet at the 2014 CES show this January 7 - 10th in Las Vegas. Based on a photo that Android Central caught of a billboard being assembled tonight, our questions will be answered tomorrow afternoon when Samsung is expected to make an early announcement at their press conference.
We really do not have too much information concerning the specifications of the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, except that it appears to be similar in design to the Galaxy Note 10.1. The Note Pro 12.2 does appear to be sporting a 3.0 USB port, like the Galaxy Note 3 - this is a great feature that allows faster data transfer as well as faster charging...which we all would love to have. The other nice thing that Samsung did with the Galaxy Note 3's 3.0 USB port is that you could still use the old USB 2.0 plugs as well, although it is easier to attach the 3.0 plug in the dark!
The billboard also outs the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1, although no specific sizes or specs are revealed on the partial advertisement. The International Business Times (IBT) reports that the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 will have 2 GB RAM, 8MP main camera for photos and videos, 2 MP front-facing camera for video chat and selfies, and come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.
Other tablets from Samsung include the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. They should all come in both a Wi-Fi-only, along with cellular configurations. The Pro models will most likely get LTE support and the low-cost Galaxy Tab 3 Lite may only support 3G connectivity. According to the article, benchmarks revealed the Pro 10.1-inch display will pack a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and that it will be powered by an octa-core Exynos 5420 chipset with a clock speed of 1.9 GHz and Mali-T628 GPU.
