After the launch of the Galaxy nexus on Verizon’s network, subscribers have been wondering if they were ever going to get another Nexus device available for purchase at the wireless carrier. Thanks to some wonderful news from phonearena, we have learned that you might soon be able to acquire a Nexus 7 2013 edition from Verizon. That is wonderful news indeed especially if you’re already a VZW customer, and we have to agree that it would be nice to have more of the Nexus devices hit Verizon in the future. The information is coming from infamous leak master @evleaks, who is known for leaking images and information about upcoming devices. He states that Verizon is close to adding the Nexus 7 2013 to their lineup of available devices, which might as well be just as promising as seeing an accidental website posting from Verizon themselves.
This isn’t the only thing to be revealed by @evleaks, as he also mentions that the horrid placement of the Verizon Logo all over the device won’t be plaguing their version of the Nexus 7. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having the VZW logo somewhere, but Verizon tends to overdo it sometimes. If I were personally a Verizon subscriber and wanted to get my hands on an LTE Nexus 7, I wouldn’t be opposed to purchasing it from them knowing that key piece of information.
Sadly there hasn’t been any mention of price about the tablet just yet, or an official release date for that matter. It shouldn’t take long however before we learn when customers will be able to pick this Verizon compatible LTE tablet up, and it should be just the same for the pricing. We can’t imagine it’ll be too different from the price of the version you order from Google Play, but we can’t speculate on what Verizon’s decision will be in this matter. Big Red was supposed to be launching an LTE compatible version of the Nexus 7 towards the end of 2013, and it’s obviously not here yet so they’re a bit late to the party. That’s ok though as it will more than likely be worth it once it does become available. Is anyone planning on grabbing this up once it launches? Or does everyone already have their nexus 7? Let us know what you think about Verizon finally getting the LTE version in the comments.
