Game Insight has their hand in plenty of titles that are offered on Android currently, and a new one coming later in the near future promises to offer a completely unique experience unlike any other running game you’ve ever played. Running Shadow mixes together elements of the popular RPG genre with the play style and mechanics of endless runners to offer something totally unique and just plain awesome. You’ll find that the blend of RPG and combat game elements fits in nicely with the runner genre, and provides a fast paced gaming experience that millions of people love, but ties in things that do well to engage the gamer like backstory and action.
As you run, progress and level your character and outfit them with new equipment and gear, just like you would in a real RPG. In Running Shadow, you’ll be playing as an enigmatic member of the Fraternity of Shadows, where you’ll have to explore the realm known as Adrion which is shrouded in mystery and full of danger. As a member of the Fraternity, you’re tasked with finding out the answers to these mysteries, but you’ll have help as Running Shadow boasts an entire cast of Characters, something that is another completely unique element not generally seen in a game that is part of the runner genre. As you make your way through the game, you’ll come across the other members of the Fraternity, who will help train you and provide you with aid on your journey. One such character you’ll encounter is your ally Onyx Scorpion, the dark elf weapon master who will train you in the deadly art of swordplay. Among the rest of the cast of characters, you’ll meet others that ready you with valuable skills and various gear, gadgets and weapons to help you, as well as come in contact with many enemies and traps/obstacles that threaten to stop you dead in your tracks.
Not everyone of the people that are part of the cast of characters can be trusted, so make sure to watch your back and tread lightly, and be careful who you share your secrets with. Although there is no official time frame for a release or what this game will cost, Running Shadow shouldn’t be too far off as its slated for a release onto Android in early 2014. Once the game drops, expect to be immersed in a deep storyline with plenty of action that goes far beyond that of any other endless runner game. If you’re interest is peaked just like ours, check out the screenshots and the video below, then feel free to visit the official Running Shadow webpage. If I had to describe this game in few words, I’d say it’s a mix of Assassins Creed and an Endless Runner game.
