Hopefully you're ready for more rumors of impending low-end Samsung devices, because they just keep coming. This latest rumor comes from the folks at SamMobile – who else? – and claims that Samsung is gearing up to release a Galaxy Tab 3 Lite in about a month's time. This is the third Samsung-branded "Lite" device we've heard of, joining the previously rumored Galaxy Grand Lite and Galaxy Note 3 Lite.
Unfortunately, there aren't too many details about the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite yet, but if SamMobile's source is to believed, we don't have much longer to wait until it's available. Apparently the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite could be hitting shelves as early as the second week of January 2014. A Cream White version will be released first, with an Ebony Black variant arriving a month later. The tablet will unsurprisingly be available in Wi-Fi only and 3G models, and the Wi-Fi only version is expected to be the first one out of the gate.
While SamMobile's anonymous source didn't say anything about technical specifications, they did mention that the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite should be priced around 100 Euros. If that turns out to be true, it would make the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite the cheapest tablet Samsung has ever offered. Even without any hint of what could possibly be running under the hood, it seems relatively safe to assume that 100 Euros isn't going to buy much when it comes to power. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, though, as it seems more and more consumers have been opting for lower priced devices that may not have the best specs over the expensive gadgets on the high-end of the spectrum.
Remember to take all of this with a grain of salt, though, as Samsung hasn't confirmed anything about its various rumored devices. That being said, it makes sense for the company to begin offering more to the budget-minded consumers of the world; Samsung basically has the high-end Android market on lock down already, so if it can make a profit selling low-end devices to people who don't necessarily need or want the best hardware on the block, it stands to solidify its position as one of the most popular Android manufacturers around. Stay tuned, because if the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite really is launching in January, it won't be much longer before we get official confirmation.
