The OPPO R829T has already appeared at the TENAA database where it received approval from China's FCC. The OPPO R829T is actually the OPPO R1. Which is a new device in the OPPO R Series. The OPPO R1 has appeared in China yet again. You can see the images in a gallery at the bottom of this post. The device is indeed in white, and actually looks a lot like the Glass style that the Xperia Z1 uses.
As far as specs go, the OPPO R1 is sporting a 5-inch 720p HD display as well as powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The OPPO R1 is also sporting an 8MP shooter on the back with a 5MP shooter on the front. The OPPO R1 is reportedly only 7.1mm thin. The device appears to still have some pretty thick bezels, and it actually looks like a cross between the Sony Xperia Z1 and the Apple iPhone 5S. Which is quite interesting, especially coming from OPPO.
More than likely the OPPO R1 is going to only be available in China. Although we'd love to see OPPO bring more phones over to the US. I'm pretty sure that the OPPO R1 with these specs will not do well in the US, unless it was priced pretty low. Remember all the heat Motorola got for putting a 720p display on a 4.7-inch device? Now OPPO is putting a 720p display on an even larger device. It's not going to go over well. OPPO is one of those OEMs that we are all keeping an eye on because they make great devices, but they just never come over to the US. But that's quickly changing. OPPO made the N1 which was the first device to have CyanogenMod installed out of the box. So we know they think outside the box, But what about the R1? It'll be interesting to see what's special about this one.
