Samsung's Galaxy S4 may be getting getting pretty old (in phone years), but that hasn't stopped Samsung from pushing out a new version of their 2013 flashship phone – this time, in Thailand only. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Crystal Edition, as reported by GSM Arena, is a collaboration between Samsung and Swarovski Elements, and the phone's only real difference is the back, which is customized with a unique pattern of Swarovski crystals inlaid into the phone. Besides that, this is just your regular Samsung Galaxy S4, running the Exynos 5 Octa 5410 chip, that 5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen, and all the other things that come with the GS4 that we all know already.
It will cost you 20,300 baht ($630) and you can only get it from the Samsung Shop. For comparison, a standard I9500 S4 costs around 17,400 baht ($540) in Thailand. That's a significant enough price difference for someone looking for a phone, but I suppose if you're even looking at this device seriously, you're probably in the market for something that's just a little something extra. This is not the first time that Samsung put forward Galaxy variants studded with Swarovski crystals: it did it with the S III Mini and the S II as well.
Next year, Samsung will apparently also launch a Galaxy S4 La Fleur Edition. This should be joined by a Galaxy Core La Fleur, Galaxy Trend La Fleur, and Galaxy Fame Lite La Fleur. All these will most probably see a release similar to this one, in countries such as Russia and the like.
