Smartphones come in all shapes and sizes and price ranges, so if you are looking for a last-minute Christmas gift and have $2,300 sitting around, Gresso Radical has launched its first ever Android smartphone in a solid titanium case with a gold logo. Now to be fair, they do offer a cheaper model for only $1,800, but hey, you might as well go for the gold, be it yellow or white for the extra $500.
For your money you get a limited edition solid titanium case smartphone - there are only 999 being made and each one is numbered, such as, 13/999. There are three models to choose from - the Gresso Radical R1 is the "base" model for $1,800 and includes nothing but titanium - the Gresso Radical R2 includes an 18K Yellow Gold front logo plate for $2,300 - and the Gresso Radical R3, which also costs $2,300, but sports an 18K White Gold logo plate - specification wise they are all identical.
Specifications include a 4.5-inch QHD touchscreen, which translates into 960 x 540 pixel resolution and 244 PPI. It uses a quad-core processor running at 1.2GHz, runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system, and offers 36GB of internal memory. It sports an 8MP main camera, no FFC is mentioned, and it has dual-SIMs. It is 138 x 69 x 12mm and weighs in at 219 grams or about 7.7 ounces...close to one-half pound.
If you are wonder why a smartphone with only a 4.5-inch display would weight so much - the case and back cover are "executed" from grade 5 titanium that is widely used in the aerospace industry, and let us not forget about the titanium or gold nameplate. Even the keys are "executed" out of titanium and are sensors, rather than "push" keys.
It comes presented in a beautiful Black Leather box and includes the Charger, Authenticity Certificate, Warranty Card, and User Manual. To complete the gift, you can also order an Italian Leather case made from crocodile skin with Shockproof inserts for an addition $200.
So for an excessive amount of money you can have a beautifully crafted, if not technically advanced smartphone. So let us know on our Google+ Page if you see one of these Gresso Radicals in your near future - have you been naughty or nice?
