The Nexus 7 2013 model has been out since the end of July and were just starting to see a good assortment of accessories come out of the woodwork. Right around the time of the Nexus 5 release, we saw the new flat wireless Nexus charger that came out and is compatible with all three of the most recent Nexus devices(the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 2013, and Nexus 5). We also started to see some new Nexus 7 flip cases come out around that time as well. Today Google has added two new cases for the Nexus 7 2013 model into the mix, which are Folio Flip Cases.
The case comes in two colors, your standard “Black” and a “Bright Red”. These convenient and functional cases protect your Nexus 7 while also making it possible to flip around the face cover and turn it into a stand to prop up the tablet for movie/tv viewing or games. The case is made with a polycarbonate and soft elastomer blend, so it fits on the tablet like a second skin but doesn’t make it too bulky. The flip cover is a tri-fold style, so you can prop your Nexus 7 up in two different comfortable viewing angles to make it easier for typing or getting a better view of whatever you’re doing on the tablet.
One of the best features about the folio case is that it has an open back, allowing quick access to a wireless charger should you need to give it some juice at a moments notice. The case itself(minus the attached flip cover that protects the face) is a bumper style and looks very similar to the colorful cases that came out for the Nexus 5. The nice thing is that these cases are not manufactured by asus like the ones for the 2012 version nexus 7 tablet, so the flip cover is a little different and has what looks like a nice soft microfiber on the inside to help protect the display as well as clean it perhaps? If you find yourself in need of a nice case for your brand new 2013 edition Nexus 7 that you can keep on it at all times, you can head on over to the Play Store and grab either the Black or the Bright Red Folio Flip cases for just $49.99. Since were a few short weeks away from Christmas, this would make a great little gift alongside the Nexus 7/Chromecast deal that Google has put out this morning.
