The one thing I've heard from a lot of people that want the Moto X, but haven't bought one yet, is they want wood. Which you can't blame them. Who doesn't want a phone with a wood back? I know I certainly want one. Earlier today, Motorola's CEO Dennis Woodside did a little interview with MKBHD, which you can check out here. Where he stated that they are coming soon, and that his team is working hard at testing them out. "Coming Soon" is the words we hate most coming from a carrier or OEM. Why? Simply because that could mean tomorrow, it could mean 6 months from now. We heard that all too much with HTC and the ICS update for the Thunderbolt.
However, @Evleaks has leaked a picture of the wood backed Moto X with a Verizon logo. Now the logo doesn't really matter to us, unless Verizon is getting an exclusive on it, which we may never forgive Motorola for if they do that. As I'd expect the wood options to be available to everyone, or every carrier at least. But at least Verizon didn't slap a 4G LTE logo on there or an off centered one like on the G2.
I've actually been one of those trying to wait it out for a wood back Moto X, but with the Cyber Monday sale this week, I decided to pull the trigger and order one at the Nexus 5 price (hopefully I'll have mine in hand in a few days). We all want wood on our Moto X, and hopefully we see it soon. And from the way Dennis Woodside said "coming soon", it really sounds like they are in the final stages of testing it out. Hopefully it's just right around the corner.
How many of you would love to get your hands on a wood backed Moto X? Let us know in the comments below.
