Download: Android 4.4.2 for the Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 2013 WiFi and Nexus 10 [Update: Nexus 7 2013 LTE Added]

Earlier we brought you the OTA zip for Android 4.4.2 on the Nexus 5. Now we’ve got all the Zips for all the Nexus devices, except the Nexus 7 2013 LTE model. Hopefully we’ll see that one appear rather soon. These updates are all build KOT49H, which is Android 4.4.2 and just a slight bump over Android 4.4.1 which we saw begin to roll out last week. So far we don’t know whats new in Android 4.4.2 right now, except for “other bug fixes and performance improvements”. So as always, if you find some more changes, feel free to let us know in the comments down below. So far we’ve been able to confirm that it fixes some issues related to security, and likely resolves the SMS bug that was found in the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5.

The Android 4.4.2 appears to be a about 52.8MB to 54MB depending on the device. And if you’ve already got Android 4.4.1 on your device, it appears to only be a 1.7MB update. So it’s a very small one. So far I haven’t gotten the update on my Nexus 5 or 7. But hopefully it’ll appear soon. For those interested in downloading the update and sideloading it onto your device we’ve got the downloads down below. Remember you need to be rooted and preferably with stock recovery to apply these updates. So far the factory images aren’t up, but we’ll be sure to let you know when they are.

Remember to sideload these updates, you’ll need the SDK installed along with some knowledge of ADB. Simply go into your stock recovery and choose the “apply update from ADB” and then go to your computer, open a command prompt from within sdk/platform-tools folder and type in “adb sideload <filename.zip>” and that’s about it. Just that simple.
