Best Buy and Amazon Offering the Chromecast for $29.99

The Chromecast has seen quite a few sales in the past month already. We've seen it available for $29.99 from Best Buy, Walmart and Amazon around Black Friday. Then it was on sale for $32.80 from Amazon last week. Now it's back on sale from Best Buy and Amazon again for $29.99. I think that the $35 normal price for the Chromecast is a great price, but at $29.99 its even cheaper.

For those that don't know, the Chromecast is a very cheap, yet minimal, HDMI dongle that allows you to stream content on your TV. It's like Google TV but without the set top box, and probably a lot less apps. The Chromecast launched with only a handful of apps back in July. Which included the Google Play Movies, Google Play Music, YouTube, and Netflix. Since then HBO Go and Hulu Plus have joined the list. Just last week, Google began to open the flood gates for the Chromecast. They put out 10 more apps that are now compatible with Chromecast. With the most popular one being Plex. Which is the app I was really waiting on to come to Chromecast. Plex allows you to stream locally stored media onto your TV which is a big plus.

Unlike many of the other HDMI streaming dongles out there, the UI on the Chromecast is very simple. In fact, you control it all from your phone, laptop or tablet. It's crazy simple. Which is what I really like about it. I tried another HDMI streaming dongle, which was like putting stock Android on a big screen TV, which was basically a nightmare. But Chromecast has done it right.

The Chromecast is a great gift to pick up for anyone this holiday season. In fact, I've picked up a ton of them as stocking stuffers this holiday season. It's the perfect gift for just about everyone! We've got the links down below for you.
