Android Holiday Gift Ideas Day #9: Anker Astro E5 15,000mAh External Battery

With more and more manufacturers opting for non-removable batteries, it's started to pave the way for companies like Anker to make big bucks with their external battery packs. I've actually got a few around here, which would probably last me a week if the power went out. The Anker Astro E5, is one of the biggest capacity external batteries I've seen. It's a 15,000mAh battery pack. Now as a comparison, most Android phones are under 3,000mAh in size. Except for the LG G2, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and a few other devices. Which means this battery is roughly five-times the size.

This Anker Astro E5 actually has two ports on the side, so you can go ahead and charge at least two devices at the same time. Which is great because you can go ahead and charge your phone and tablet at the same time. Which I do constantly. This one does come in both black and white. And if you know someone that's a power user with their phone or tablet, this is definitely a great gift to give, especially since it'll only run you about $50. Talk about a great stocking stuffer.

If you're looking for an external battery that looks good, this has a smooth, ebony varnish which allows you to power up in style. There are also 4 LED lights which keep you aprised of the remaining capacity. It'll also take about 9-10 hours to completely charge this bad boy. Which is understandable, considering how large of a battery this one is. Like I said this is a great gift for anyone out there that is constantly on the road or always out and about doing stuff.
