The OUYA had a lot of promise, but it seems like it failed pretty hard. I haven't actually used it myself, but from what I've heard from others, it's not the best. But at under $100, it's probably the best console you could get. Unless you just want to mirror your phone to your TV, or mirror your Tablet. The OUYA was selling for $100 for the 8GB version, then they announced a 16GB limited edition version for a bit more. It's unavailable right now from Amazon. However the 8GB version is still available and you can still get it in time for Christmas.
The OUYA is available for $89.99 from Amazon and is part of Amazon Prime, so if you're an Amazon Prime member you can get free 2-day shipping. For those interested in the specs, it's got a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor inside, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage, although there is a SD card slot on board. There's also a USB 2.0 port and a micro USB port on there. It supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, has an Ethernet Port and Bluetooth, as well as HDMI that supports up to 1080p. So you can connect it to your TV easily.
There are plenty of games available for OUYA already, and there are plenty more coming. Also all the Tegra-zone games are compatible with the OUYA since the OUYA does run on the Tegra 3 processor. The OUYA does come with a controller, but of course you can buy an additional one if you're interested. The OUYA would make a pretty nice stocking stuffer for any Android gamer out there. Or even another Android-powered console like the Mad Catz MOJO would as well.
How many of you are going to pick up an OUYA console for Christmas this year? Let us know in the comments down below.
