It has already been more than a couple of weeks since the official release of the Google Nexus 5 and the next version of Google’s OS, Android 4.4 Kit Kat. In spite of the near month-long passing since then, the excitement for Jelly Beans successor is all but dying down. While some have yet to get their hands on a nexus 5 with Kit Kat already baked in, others are patiently waiting(and some impatiently.. guilty as charged here) for their OTA updates to arrive on their Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets.
Don’t think that Nexus 4 owners have been forgotten though, because as of this evening, it seems that Some Nexus 4 devices are starting to receive their OTA updates to Kit Kat as you’re reading this. Thanks to twitter user @fakeninjitsu and his twitpic post of the Android 4.4 update on his device, we know that others won’t soon be far behind with screenshots of their very own updates. As a current Nexus 4 owner, I have yet to receive this OTA myself. Come to think of it, it hasn’t hit either of my nexus 7 tablets. In light of this discovery, excitement is followed by small fits of rage followed by utter apologetic feelings of discontent, but don’t worry folks because soon we’ll all have our very own taste of this chocolaty themed treat in digital form. There is no telling how long it will take to hit all the devices, but it’s good news that some are already starting to see this pushed out. Those of you who don’t care too much, most likely have already flashed Android 4.4 via the factory image, or have flashed a ROM built off of Android 4.4. It goes without saying that, its impolite to rain on everyone else’s parade, and should you choose to ignore this small act of decency, may your shiny new Kit Kat adorned Android device be thrown from your grasp into some unforgettable accident beyond recovery or repair. Only kidding. We’d never wish that upon you.All jokes aside, has anyone else started to see the update hit their status bar? If so paste your findings in the comments along with an image or two. We always love to bask in the glory of others excitement over this kind of thing. Why? because we’re cool, that’s why. Good luck to everybody who owns a Nexus 4 tonight. If you’re already in bed, perhaps you’ll wake up to a nice surprise.
