Well, well, well, what do we have here? It appears to be the frame for a new Sony smartphone that we might be seeing at CES in January. Now that the Nexus launch is over and done with, we are now going to start seeing a lot of CES leaks starting to appear. It's already confirmed by Sony that they will be doing the first keynote of the conference in Las Vegas in January, and this could possibly be the frame of the phone they are going to show us. As you can see, it looks very similar to the Xperia Z1. Which isn't a surprise, since Sony's phones usually look pretty similar to each other.
According to the folks over at Android Community, it looks like some of the components have been rearranged in this frame for the new device, perhaps the Xperia Z2? One example si the LED flash located besides a larger camera lens hole in comparison to those found on the Xperia Z1. As far as the rest of the device goes, there doesn't seem to be much changed. The buttons all seem to be in the usual spots, but there some slight changes in the top and bottom edges. There's also an additional hole which can be found at the top edge opposite of the headphone jack. The bottom space, also has 3 holes now for the microphone.
It appears to us, that Sony thinks they have a winning design with the Xperia Z line of phones. While we are fans of the Xperia Z, ZL, Z Ultra and Z1, we can't really get too excited about it. Why? Simply because it probably won't come to the US. The Xperia Z came here about 6 months later, and the Z1 and Z Ultra came about a month ago, but it's not available on any carriers. Sony even came out and said that they are not focusing on the US right now. So for those of you in Europe and Asia, enjoy this phone, we'll still be covering it, but for those of us in the US, I wouldn't get too excited yet.
