In the last quarter, Android manufacturer Huawei went from being the lowest rung of the ladder to landing third in the IDC’s list of top five worldwide smartphone distributors. Today the Chinese company made a move that is bound to gain it even more recognition; Huawei and professional Italian football club A.C. Milan entered into a mutually beneficial sponsorship agreement that allows the communications company to use the Milan brand in its marketing endeavors.
As a result of the partnership, Huawei will be the chief communications supplier for the club. During the term of their three-year contract, the companies will work together to plan and develop further business activities which should lead the way for increased commercial opportunities in the Chinese market. “It is a source of great pride that Huawei has chosen to work with the Milan brand for its development strategies,” said Milan Chief Executive Adriano Galliani.
Huawei Managing Director George Zhao said Milan’s demonstrated leadership skills fits perfectly in line with Huawei’s goal of leading the consumer market. The latest report from the International Data Corporation is proof that Huawei is currently recognized as a global leader in telecommunication technologies. The company will gradually introduce a line of other mobile and connectivity products as it continues to gain leverage in the consumer market. As one of the most popular football clubs in China, having the AC Milan logo attached to Huawei products will no doubt make the two synonymous, thus opening up a variety of possibilities for both parties.
