Android 4.4 Update May Already Be on the Way, Probably Android 4.4.1

Thanks to the guys over at Myce, it looks like Google might be working on the Android 4.4 update already. According to an image that Myce posted from the Chromium site. To be clear, this isn't Android 4.4 that was announced last week. But possibly another update to Android 4.4. Probably Android 4.4.1. According to this screen, it looks like the build is KOT31B. Judging by that build, it looks like the build was put together on Halloween, or October 31st. So it's a very recent build, less than a month old. The B at the end of the build tells us that this is the second build for KitKat.

Of course, Google always notes that numbering is not 100% reliable. So at this point, I wouldn't get overly excited about this. But since there have been some bugs in KitKat, I'd be surprised if there wasn't an update sent out quickly. However we are still waiting on Android 4.4 to hit the Nexus 4, 7 and 10. And we have no idea when that's coming.

Hopefully Google updates the Nexus 4, 7 and 10 very soon and then pushes this update about a month or so after that. But at this point, I wouldn't hold my breath. They usually don't push out updates that quickly. I'd expect Android 4.4.1 after the new year, even though certain other sites are expecting it to hit before the end of this year. Would be awesome to see, but very unlikely. We may see an updated build hit our devices though.

How many of you are enjoying KitKat? Whether it be from the Nexus 5 or from a Custom ROM? Let us know how you're liking it and if you've found any bugs, aside form the ROM, in KitKat. I haven't found much yet on the Nexus 5. So far I'm loving how fast and smooth KitKat is, not to mention the UI tweaks that Matias Duarte and his gang added in.
