Android App Updates 10/10/13: Google Maps, Adobe Air, Stitcher and More

Google Maps 7.3 Launches

This week, actually last night, Google sent out a new update to maps. This brings the application up to version 7.3 and brings plenty of goodies including Compact Navigation cards, better expanded notifications and much more. The update is in a staged rollout so you should get it in the next week or so.

Adobe Air gets updated to Version 3.9

Yes, Adobe Air still exists. It's been updated to version 3.9 and is bringing along support for Multi-threading, XXHDPI icons, background tasks for apps running in direct render mode and more. So it's a pretty big update, but many of you probably don't use Adobe Air anyways.

Stitcher also received an Update

This week, Stitcher also got a nice update. Bringing lots of new features and as always with any app, bug fixes. Here's the changelog:

What's new:

  • Offline Listening Mode – Set any of your playlists to be available offline and these lists will automatically update in the background, making them accessible for listening whether you're on a plane, in the subway or riding your bike in the middle of nowhere.

  • Drawer Navigation – Swipe right from the left edge to access Stitcher's main menu.

  • Key usability improvements and crash fixes

Yahoo Mail Gets Updated

Earlier this week, Yahoo Mail also got a nice update since it turned 16 years old this week. Happy Birthday Yahoo Mail. It brought with it a huge overhaul and actually uses Flickr photos as themes now, which is pretty darn cool in my opinion.

Skype Updated to v4.4

This week, Skype was also updated and brought up to version 4.4. The update brings a new tablet UI and allows for up to 4-times video resolution for all devices. It's still sporting that Microsoft Metro UI, which is okay, but I still prefer Holo, how about the rest of you?

ChatON gets Updated along with some UI changes

Samsung's own chat service, ChatON got a nice update this week which brought a few UI changes and a fresh coat of paint to the app. You can also share content directly from Samsung's LIVEpartners, which is pretty cool.
