New Nexus 7 Now Available in South Korean Play Store
The Nexus 7 was Google's first foray into launching a device internationally, and with the 2013 version of the device it looks like things haven't changed. Having launched in parts of Europe and of course the US, the new Nexus 7 is now available to purchase in South Korea, directly from the Google Play Store. So far this is just the WiFi version of the tablet however, the LTE version is said to be coming soon. Pricing is laid out above and you can read our review here.
Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear Up for Pre-Order in China
Last week during IFA 2013, Samsung finally took wraps off of their new Galaxy Note 3 and their own smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear. Now, both devices are up for pre-order from the Chinese website, JD.com. The Galaxy Note 3 costs RMB $5699 for the basic model and comes the following variants: WCDMA, CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA. As for the Galaxy Gear, you can pre-order their first smartwatch from RMB $2999. The site is offering a free gift with pre-orders of the Galaxy Note 3 and hopefully, we should these devices making their way to carriers shortly.
Pantech IM-A890 to be First LTE-A Device With Fingerprint Reader
While there's little known about the IM-A890, it's really been through WiFi and Bluetooth certifications. From those two things we can work out that the device is going to be coming with a rear touch sensor and a fingerprint reader. As well as this, it's powered by the Snapdragon 800 at 2.2 Ghz. It's rumored that this device is going to be the successor to the IM-A880, the Vega LTE-A so, all things stand to reason that this is going to be the first LTE-A device with a fingerprint reader. Hopefully launching in South Korea with super-fast speeds soon!
LG G2 Passes Through the TENAA
As GSMInsider has reported, the D802 variant of the LG G2 has been approved by the TENAA in China. Hopefully meaning that the G2 will be launching in China fairly shortly. With LG looking to expand their global reach, hopefully this means a better distribution for their devices all around the world. With its Snapdragon 800 CPU at 2.3 Ghz and a Full HD display at 5.2-inches, this might be the phone you've been waiting for.
China Mobile's MI3 Gets Approved
Last week saw the arrival of the latest and greatest Xiaomi smartphone, the MI3. With two different versions, one with a Snapdragon 800 and one with a Tegra 4, this is a great device. The Tegra 4 version that's destined for China Mobile has just gotten approved through the TENAA, hopefully meaning a launch is soon. Oppo Find Way U707 Launches in Thailand
While China is one of the largest mobile markets in the world, other Asian countries matter as well. This is something that Oppo have realized and with the U707 Find Way, they're launching another great device. With a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and an 8-megapixel camera, this is all about photos. With a 3,000 mAh battery and the MediaTek MT6589 CPU, this should be a speedy device as well. New Padfone Infinity Launching September 17th
As we reported earlier on in the week, ASUS is getting ready to launch the new Padfone Infinity. So far, all the rumors and leaks have pointed to a device that's basically the same as last year's with a Snapdragon 800 under the hood this time around. The device is being launched in Taipei next week and we'll have the latest news then.
LG G2 Launching in Singapore Later This Month
As we said further up, LG is looking to distribute their devices on more of a global scale this year and so the G2 is not just coming to China and South Korea but also, Singapore. Launching in the country on September 21st, Singapore residents will be able to get their hands on the best smartphone that LG has ever created.
