App of the Week: Thermometer for Android

This week’s edition of App of the week, we have Thermometer for Android. Which is a very simple, yet beautiful weather app. I first shared this app on Google+ not too long ago and it gained a lot of traction, so I figured I’d share it here as well. The app itself looks very beautiful, it’s basically a simple and minimalistic weather app that allows you to see the current weather for your current location. It also allows you to see the forecasted weather for that day and the weather for tomorrow.

Thermometer for Android isn’t one of those fancy weather apps with all the fancy animations, and the satellite images you’ll get with apps like Yahoo! Weather. But damn does it look nice. Since it’s minimal, it’s also pretty small. It weighs in at about 609KB which is fairly small compared to many of the apps out there on the market these days.

What I did find interesting about the app, is the screen varies in colors from red to orange to yellow all the way to blue. Indicating that blue is cold and red is hot. You’ll notice in the screenshots that the weather shows up in different colors depending on how warm or cold it is. Which I think is a really nice touch. Pretty soon, it’ll stay in the blue section for me.

Thermometer has been on the Play Store for a little over 24 hours now. I’ve bought it (only $1.09 USD) and am using it on the HTC One Mini and the Nexus 7 (2013), and it looks nice. The colors are so vivid. It’s going to be replacing Eye in the Sky for me on my daily drivers. I don’t need anything to feature packed for the weather, just something that tells me the current weather and what it’ll be like later today and possibly tomorrow. Which is exactly what Thermometer does. You can buy it on the Play Store now by hitting the link down below.
