AT&T Teasing Big Announcement for Next Week, Perhaps LTE-Advanced or VoLTE?

Last night, we got a quick email from our friends at AT&T about an event going down next week, July 16th to be exact. They are saying "Get Ready for What's next in Wireless". The teaser image, which is shown above, also talks about their 4G LTE network. So hints would tell me it's something to do with their data network. And the next logical steps for them would be LTE-Advanced or VoLTE. Verizon and MetroPCS are already working on their VoLTE networks. So it wouldn't surprise me to see AT&T begin work on their VoLTE network. Then maybe we could move to Data-only plans soon?

While we're expecting AT&T to announce some plan or network related news, it doesn't rule out any device related news. If they are kicking off a VoLTE network, they'll have to announce a device or two that could work on the new network. But we might be getting ahead of ourselves.

This comes less than a week after T-Mobile's big event in NYC, which is in a couple of hours. Where the carrier is expected to announce a new Upgrade plan where customers can upgrade anytime. By comparison, AT&T just announced recently that customers will have to wait the full 24 months to upgrade now instead of the 20 months prior. So the timing of this event is pretty interesting, as we're sure T-Mobile will throw some jabs at AT&T, Verizon and even Sprint later today.

We can pretty much just speculate at this point. But we're pretty sure it's something to do with AT&T's network. Maybe they'll add some new services for you to pay for? Who knows at this point. But we'll be keeping our eyes open on July 16th to see what AT&T has in store for us. As always you'll be able to get all the news right here from Android Headlines.

So what do you think AT&T will announce? Maybe a partnership with JLo? Let us know in the comments below.
