Ever wanted to find information about local independent restaurants in the Louisville area fast and easily? That’s exactly what Menu and Hours does. It’s human curated, so it’s kind of up-to-date. The goal of this app is to turn the chore of finding a restaurant, figuring out when its open and learning what it serves into an efficient and pleasant experience. The app doesn’t give you a PDF to download or display user uploaded photos and reviews. Menu and Hours just gives you useful information. Fast Company Design developed and designed the app.
Some of the features for Menu and Hours include:
- Menus, operating hours, location and contact information for over 120 independent restaurants in the Louisville Kentucky Metro area
- Browse by category or an alphabetical list of all Menu and Hours restaurants
- Search for specific menu items
- Use the Map view to find restaurants by location
- Mark restaurants as Favorites to keep
At this time, Menu and Hours has information for over 120 different restaurants. They are adding more all the time as they get permission from restaurants to include their information. Which is a good idea to get the restaurants consent before including their information. They also say that if you’d like to see your favorite restaurant in the app and it’s not in Louisville, to let your restaurant’s management know.
Menu and Hours seems like a pretty genius app, especially if you’re new to a city and looking for a good place to eat. I’d definitely like to see it available for more cities throughout the US and even the world. It could be a really great tool for tourists, in my opinion.
Menu and Hours is currently sitting at about 100-500 installs, since it’s relatively only for Louisville, that doesn’t really surprise me. It’s sitting at version 1.1.1 and requires Android 2.2 and above. It weighs in at about 1.7MB in size, and is $2.99 from the Google Play Store.
