Galaxy Note 8.0 Hits Canada


This week, the Galaxy Note 8.0 with 4G LTE made it's way into Canada and is currently available on TELUS, Rogers, and Bell. Rogers is offering it for $499.99 off-contract, and Bell has it on a 3-year contract for $349.99 or off-contract for $549.95. The Galaxy Note 8.0 includes an 8-inch 1280×800 resolution display, 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos 4412 processor, 2GB of RAM along with a 5MP camera on the back and 16GB of internal storage. There's also a microSD card slot inside.

Samsung Galaxy S3 on WIND Mobile Getting Android 4.1.2 Update



This week, those of you with the Galaxy S3 on WIND Mobile were treated to the Android 4.1.2 update which brings along the Premium Suite features that we have seen on the Galaxy Note 2. You can grab the update by going to Settings, About Phone then tapping on Software Update.

Mobilicity "In discussions with multiple parties in connection with an acquisition"


We had heard that Mobilicity and Verizon Wireless were in talks recently. Now it appears that Mobilicity is still in discussions with multiple parties about an acquisition. Right now Verizon can't legally purchase Mobilicity until they buy Vodafone's stake in the company back. So we'll be looking to see how this all unfolds.


Samsung Galaxy Mega Landing on Rogers this Fall


According to a leaked document from Mobile Syrup, it appears that the Galaxy Mega will be coming to Canada, for those that love huge phones. The leaked image, shown above says the Galaxy Mega has a 4.8-inch display, when we know there's a 5.8-inch and a 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega. So take this one with a grain of salt.

Rogers Offering customers 350MB of free US roaming when you buy a Samsung Smartphone

If you're a Rogers customer who visits the US often, then you'll want to take part in this deal. It appears that Rogers is offering 350MB of free US roaming to those that purchase a Samsung smartphone on Rogers before July 31st. So you have a few weeks left.

Rogers to start charging a Connection fee?

A leaked memo withing Rogers, shows us that beginning July 10th, they'll be charging a new Connection fee. They'll be eliminating the $35 activation fee and the $35 hardware upgrade administration fee and adding a new $35 connection fee. Which cannot be waived.


Nexus 4 in White Lands in Canada


This week, even though the US Play Store ran out of the White Nexus 4, it has traveled across the border to our friends in Canada. The device is coming to Canada thanks to Google and WIND, which means if you're in Quebec, you'll be able to pick up the device from their regional carrier Videotron.

Black HTC One Now Available on TELUS



Yesterday, TELUS finally began selling the Black HTC One on their network. The device will be $650 outright and $149 on a new 3-year contract. Same price as the current Silver HTC One on TELUS.

Rogers, Bell, TELUS, and Sasktel Raising the price of the Galaxy S4 32GB version
