Samsung Updating the Galaxy Note 2, GT-N7100, Still Android 4.1.2

Today, Samsung began pushing out a software update to the International Galaxy Note 2. That would be the GT-N7100. The new update is still based on Android 4.1.2 according to Samsung. But it appears to be a stability update that fixes a bunch of different things including the battery drain, bug fixes and other little problems users or customers have been experiencing.

Android 4.2.2 is still planned for Q3 for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2. Last we heard is that the update was delayed due to the new version of Touchwiz which is on the Galaxy S4. The update is currently available in most of the European countries and shows the build date of May 31st. The update is available via OTA or KIES. Here is the information regarding the update from Sammobile, so you can be sure you have the correct device:

Model: GT-N7100
Country: United Kingdom
Version: Android 4.1.2
Changelist: 1071214
Build date: Fri, 31 May 2013 02:18:10 +0000
Product Code: BTU

So it’s not Android 4.2.2, but it is an update. Which is more than we can say for other OEMs. Android 4.2.2 should be coming soon to both the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 if they can ever stop releasing phones for a minute. We’re also expecting the Galaxy Note 3 in Q3, so hopefully they update the Note 2 to Android 4.2.2 before the Note 3 is released. Or Samsung may have some angry customers on their hands.

How many of you in Europe with the Galaxy Note 2 have already received this update? Have you noticed any differences or bug fixes yet? Let us know in the comments down below.
