By now, we know plenty about the Galaxy S4 Zoom. It's basically the Galaxy Camera but with calling functionality. Or at least that's what rumors have told us. Leaks have told us basically a Galaxy Camera mixed with a Galaxy S4 mini, which isn't the worst thing in the world, but the Zoom might turn out to be a very heavy device, unfortunately.
Today, @evleaks dug up some new information which ties to Samsung model SM-C101 which we've seen consistently, and it's being tied to the Galaxy Camera.
So why is this interesting? Well it could just be another Android in a camera body, instead of something like what Nokia did with the 808. It also looks to imply that Samsung is trying to avoid using every letter in the alphabet for their devices. But with them announcing a new device every week, that's going to be hard to do. It appears that Samsung wants to have just one Android-powered camera which they update the hardware on each year.
Although it could entirely be that we are reading to much into this. And that it's just an error in the database. Not like that's never happened before, now has it? Either way, we're still interested to find out more about the Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Galaxy Camera. I reviewed the Galaxy Camera earlier this year and really liked it, and am excited to see what they do with the next iteration of the device. As far as the Galaxy S4 Zoom goes, I'd like to see how heavy it is and what the other specs are. Rumor is it'll be a 4.3-inch device. So we'll have to wait and see on that one.
Samsung does have an event going on in London on June 20th, where all these questions could be answered. We already know that the Galaxy Tab 3 lineup and the Galaxy S4 Mini won't be announced their as they've already been announced, so that leaves the Galaxy S4 Active and Zoom. Possibly the Note 3?
