Yesterday, the folks in charge of the HTC and Samsung UK Twitter handles had a bit of fun and gave us all a good laugh or two. HTC began is all with a tweet
"Last night we won the 'hottest phone of 2013' at the Mobile Awards #HTCOne, Ouch @SamsungMobileUK"
And of course, Samsung couldn't be the bigger man and just leave it alone, instead they answered back with a pretty funny tweet as well.
@htc_uk That's okay guys, our arms were full with the other three awards we took home last night. You can have that one!
HTC responded yet again, pointing at the fact that Samsung did pay students to write bad reviews about their competitors phones earlier this year:
@SamsungMobileUK all those students you paid to write fake reviews of your competitors finally paid off. Pay rise, maybe?
Yes there was a typo in there, but we all get the gist of it. I have to say, it was pretty funny to me. Later on, LG's UK Twitter came into play, but to play peace maker, showing the picture you see at the beginning of this article. So it was a rather interesting day on Twitter. I can't say I've ever seen a couple of manufacturers go at it like this on Twitter. But it shows that there are some new people in the marketing and social media department at HTC. In the past they would have never said anything like this.
How many of you were surprised to see this type of activity on Twitter yesterday between these three OEMs? I know I was certainly surprised. I even had to take a screenshot and throw it up on Google+ yesterday, just for kicks. Did HTC do the right thing here? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
