HTC Desire 600 Dual-Sim Variant Hitting China Soon
The Desire 600 was announced recently and there were whispers that HTC would be debuting a dual-SIM version of the device for China. Luck would have it, ePrice have managed to get their hands on a leaked press shot of the device. It's known as the 609d and should be coming to China Telecom shortly. Gionee ELIFE E6 Breaks Cover Before Release
With a 1080p 5-inch display, this latest device from Gionee, the ELIFE E6 looks set to be a real winner. The MT6589T from MediaTek is running the show, with 2GB of RAM, a 13MP BSI rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera and 2,000 mAh battery. It's running Android 4.2.1 and should be launching July 10th or so for around $350 US. It'll be reaching areas like China, India and other parts of Asia.
Toshiba REGZA Tablet AT703 On Sale in Japan With Tegra 4 onboard
The latest and greatest Toshiba tablet is finally on sale in Japan, with its Tegra 4 and all. The specs of this tablet include the following: a 10.1-inch display with 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution, 1.8GHz Tegra 4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, a MicroSD slot, an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. This is one great device and Japan have a really powerful tablet hitting shelves right now.
Huawei Ascend Y321 Gets Approved in China; Budget-Offering from Huawei
Those looking for a more affordable smartphone will be pleased to hear that Huawei have something in the pipeline. The Ascend Y321 is going to be a budget-offering with low-end specs that should come at a low price. The Ascend Y321 has a 4-inch display at 800 x 480 pixels, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB, a 2MP front-facing camera and is destined for China Telecom with support for CDMA2000 networks.
Xiaomi Tablet Being Worked On; Heading for August 17th Reveal
The company behind the super-successful MIUI ROM and smartphones, is looking to produce and sell a tablet. This is quite exciting news because the Xiaomi company sells their devices for very little and so this could become one of the best affordable tablets in China right now. The device is apparently going to retail for as little as RMB $999, which would make for a very affordable tablet. Hopefully there is some truth to the rumors and we'll have a tablet for China soon.
Third-Gen Meizu to be Powered by Exynos 5 Octa
The next version of the popular Meizu device is approaching fast and there's still wild speculation about what the device is going to be like. Current rumors are suggesting that the next Meizu device will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa CPU, instead of buying chips from Qualcomm or Nvidia. As well as this, there will be three versions and three colors, each with 16,32 or 64GB of storage. The company's CEO has said that no prototype of the device has leaked out yet, hinting that the new smartphone will be a big surprise.
UMEOX Unveil X5; Really is the World's Thinnest Smartphone
Huawei's Ascend P6 is thin at 6.18mm but French bran UMEOX believe they can do a lot better, and have unveiled the X5 at 5.6mm thin! Not just that but the device is only a 4-inch smartphone, which is surprising as most thin devices rely on large displays to pack everything into them. There's not much known about the CPU or specs, only that it's powered by a MediaTek CPU and will be coming to France "this summer".
Huawei Honor 3 Leaks Out; 720p Smartphone Coming Soon
While it might not look like much, the Honor 3 from Huawei is set to become a quality device for those in China. With a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720p HD display, and Huawei's own 1.5 GHz quad-core K3V2 processor along with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage this could be a great affordable device. There's no word on the MP of the camera yet but we're expecting something like an 8 or a 13MP rear-facing camera. If Huawei can sell this cheap enough they could have a winner on their hands.
Sony Announce Xperia C for China; First MediaTek Device
Not content with releasing the Xperia Z Ultra Sony also had something else to announce. The Xperia C, a low-end and affordable smartphone for the Chinese market. This is the first device that Sony has produced with a MediaTek chip inside of it. This is big for Sony as they're moving into other parts of Asia and targeting different price points as well. Hisilicon K3V3 Processor to Be Announced This Year
Among companies such as Huawei, TCL, ZTE and the like, Huawei is a little unique in that they produce their own CPUs, or at least their own designs. There's real anticipation for the Hisilicon K3V3, which is pegged to be a new and powerful CPU from the Chinese firm. Their device president was recently asked a question concerning the new processor and while he didn't give a date, he said that the CPU would be announced later this year.
ZTE to Focus on Higher-End Devices
While Huawei seems intent to go global and improve their distribution around the world, ZTE are apparently going to focus more on producing high-end devices. This would certainly help their brand image throughout the globe. While they make some great phones for the Chinese market in Europe they're known more for budget device that aren't overly appealing. Hopefully ZTE will be able to make some truly stunning devices, like the Grand S, and improve their distribution all at the same time. Apparently, the company has signed a deal with an NBA basketball team to sponsor them as well.
Fujitsu ARROWS A 202F Coming to SoftBank
Finally some news for our Japanese readers here and the Fujitsu ARROWS A 202F is headed to SoftBank now, with some really impressive specs along with it, all while being just 10mm thick. The device comes packing a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdraon 600, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage with microSD support, a 5-inch 1080p display and a long-lasting 3,000mAh battery.
