Android How To: Turn off Contact Images in Gmail for Android v4.5

Earlier this week the new version of Gmail began to roll out to the millions of Android devices out there. There were quite a few changes to the new version of Gmail including the addition of contact images and the deletion of checkboxes. While you can still select multiple emails by long pressing, some may not like the contact images. Which is understandable. So today we are going to show you how to get rid of them.

  1. Open up your Gmail app

  2. Go into Settings
  3. Tap on General Settings
  4. Uncheck 'Sender Image'
  5. That's it.
