Android 4.2.2 Reportedly Delayed for the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3

While Samsung's Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Mega's are already on Android 4.2.2, their Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 is still sitting on Android 4.1.2. And their customers or users are desperately awaiting the update to Android 4.2.2. But according to SamMobile, it looks like Samsung has delayed the update for the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3.

So why is it delayed? Well according to SamMobile, it's because of the new version of Touchwiz for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2. Yes, the version of Touchwiz on the Galaxy S4 is coming to the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2. SamMobile doesn't say when the update is due to come out. But for those of us here in the US, we probably won't see it until later this year, unfortunately.

On the bright side, all of Samsung's new devices like the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy Mega 5.8, Galaxy Mega 6.3, and the Galaxy Ace 3 already have Android 4.2.2 out of the box. So no waiting for an update. In the past year, Samsung has become much better at updating their devices, and becoming one of the first to update their devices to the latest version of Android.

So for those of you with last years Samsung flagship devices, you'll be waiting a bit longer for Android 4.2.2. But hey, you are on Android 4.1.2 so at least you're not still waiting on ICS or Android 4.1 like certain other phone owners were last year.

How many of you still own the Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Note 2? Are you upset that the update has been delayed due to Samsung's new version of Touchwiz? Let us know in the comments below.
