Verizon's HTC One Could Come with Android 4.2.2 Pre-Installed; But When?

The Verizon HTC One's rumor mill seems to have an endless supply of rumors. We've been hearing rumors of the Verizon HTC One, pretty much since the day HTC announced the One for T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T. And they are still going. The latest rumor is coming out a HTC ROM developer, LLABTOOFER on Twitter, who was right about the HTC One 'Google Edition' which is the main reason why we give him a bit of credibility. But remember this is still a rumor and nothing is official, so be sure to take this all with a grain of salt.

Right now the HTC One is running Android 4.1.2 - Jelly Bean. It's not the latest, but it still better than running Android 4.0. Well according to this HTC ROM developer, the Verizon HTC One could launch with Android 4.2.2 on board. Now that would be a huge advantage for Verizon, depending on when they launch their HTC One, or if they launch it. We've also heard that the Android 4.2.2 update will be hitting the HTC One this summer for all the variants out there right now. While the HTC One 'Google Edition' is going to get bumped to Android 4.3 shortly after it releases in June.

The second part of this rumor is that the HTC One on Verizon will launch this summer, before the end of June. So that means HTC and Verizon should be having a joint press conference or event within the next couple of weeks right? Well we haven't received a press invite from Verizon or HTC yet. But we'll be on the lookout for one.

If the HTC One ever does show up on Verizon, it'll probably go on sale for about $199 for the 32GB, and since AT&T has an exclusive on the 64GB version, we probably won't see one on Verizon. Although, if Verizon gives it a different name we could see the 64GB. How many of you are patiently waiting for the HTC One on Verizon? Let us know in the comments down below.
