This time we're taking a look at the Magic Cube from Powerocks. It's basically a 9000mAh battery that can charge just about any device. I actually found it to be quite small considering how much battery power it packs. It's rather small, but it's definitely thicker than your phone, unless you have the HTC Thunderbolt with the extended battery. It has a built-in USB and Micro USB cables along with a USB port so you could even attach your charging cable for your Samsung tablet or iOS device. It has a battery indicator with four LED lights that show you how much power you have left. It also comes in a few different colors. I have the silver version here.
This unit is a 9000mAh unit, and to put that in perspective, imagine having 4 batteries from the Nexus 4, HTC One, or Galaxy S4 altogether. That's how much power it has. I've been using it on my desk to charge various devices I have in for review right now and it works like a beast. I've charged the Galaxy S4 (2600mAh battery) and the LG Lucid 2 (2400mAh battery) and it still appears to be fully charged. Which means it's just simply a beast. It is probably the most must-have accessory for anyone playing Ingress, as we all know Ingress eats battery like crazy.
It is a bit thicker than most phones, but it's definitely worth it. You can pick up the Magic Cube from Powerocks for about $90 and at the time of writing this, it appears that this particular magic cube is out of stock until July. They also have a 12000mAh Magic Cube for about $110. They have plenty of other portable charger and battery accessories to choose from as well. In fact, we have a couple more here that I'll be reviewing over the next week or so. You'll want to stay tuned for that.
