Has the HTC One done anything wrong? Well other than launching on Android 4.1.2 and not being on Verizon, at least not yet? The HTC One appears to be bootloader unlockable via HTCdev.com, now it appears that we have achieved S-Off thanks to Team D.I.R.T. member Mazda. HTC is definitely scoring a ton of points with the developer community on the HTC One. The procedure is a rather tricky one as only about 50% of attempts have succeeded. MobileTechVideos.com posted a video about how to achieve S-Off on the HTC One which is linked in the sources down below.
MobileTechVideos.com is a site that you pay to root your phone or tablet. They are pretty pricey too. So if you're really looking for S-Off for your HTC One, I would recommend waiting. If they are able to crack it, I'm sure one of our favorite developers from RootzWiki or XDA will be able to get S-Off going for us HTC One owners soon enough. If you're willing to pay for S-Off, then you probably don't deserve it. Especially with everything that could inevitably go wrong with trying to achieve it.
So while it is possible to get S-Off on the HTC One, I wouldn't go to MobileTechVideos.com's website and have them take care of it for you. It's just not worth it. But never fear, I'm sure it'll be available soon enough for free. So S-Off for the HTC One isn't yet available, but it's coming soon….real soon! We'll keep our eyes open to see when S-Off is finally achieved for the HTC One. But I'm sure it won't be to long since it is able to be done.
With that said, what does everyone think about this? Would you pay to get S-Off on your brand new HTC One? Let us know in the comments down below.
