Well earlier today, we saw a tweet from mobile-review’s Eldar Murtazin who suggested that the Galaxy S4 would be announced on March 14th, and that HTC”s announcement is going to miss sales again. But the important thing is the “big announcement”. Now The Verge has talked to sources familiar with Samsung’s plans about the Galaxy S4 event on March 14th, and said its “definitely” happening that day. SamMobile said that the event will be in the US, but we don’t know if there will be any type of carrier availability announced on that day. That typically happens later on. But we expect the Galaxy S4 to hit all the carriers in the US including, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, US Cellular and even Metro PCS who got the Galaxy S3 a few months after the other carriers.

Now it also appears that Samsung is keeping the design of the Galaxy S4 a big secret, similar to the Galaxy S3. In fact, sources are saying it’s a “tightly-guarded secret”. Which we haven’t really seen any real leaks of the device yet. Samsung is also supposedly going to emphasize it’s features over the specs of the device. Kind of how Apple does with their devices. We’ve seen some new patents filed by Samsung recently, so we’d expect some new features like Smart Stay and Smart rotation which showed up on the Galaxy S3. Sources are also saying that the changes and cool new features from the Galaxy S3 to the Galaxy S4 will be bigger than the leap from the Galaxy S2 to Galaxy S3. And if that’s true, then we are in for a huge surprise.
So now what about Mobile World Congress? Well Samsung will be there, but they won’t be having a press conference. So I wouldn’t expect anything to big from them next week in Barcelona. We might see the Galaxy Note 8.0 which has been leaked like crazy in the past month or two. But it probably won’t be in its’ final form and design. Similar to the Galaxy Note 10.1 which appeared at Mobile World Congress last year, and got a few new internals and released several months later.
So, everyone has March 14th on their calendar circled right? Make sure you stay tuned to Android Headlines for everything related to the Galaxy S4. Just like with all the other Android news out there, we’ll be keeping you up to date with everything having to do with the Galaxy S4.
