Android How To: Organize Your Apps into Folders

February 10, 2013 - Written By Alexander Maxham

One of the great features in Android is the ability to have folders. This way you can have a ton of apps on your home screen without having a cluttered up home screen. It’s actually a little bit different to do depending on the device. But for the most part it’s the same. So here’s how you do it.

1. Turn on and unlock your device

2. Put two apps you want in a folder, onto the home screen

3. Next drag on app on top of the other.

4. Repeat steps 2-3 for all the apps you want in that folder.

On the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2

1. Turn on and unlock your device

2. Put an app you want in a folder on your home screen.

3. Now long-press it and select “Create Folder” at the top of the screen

4. Next add apps to that folder by dragging and dropping.

That’s how you can organize your apps on your home screen and keep from having your screens cluttered, or having more than one or two home screens. Honestly how many of us actually use 7 home screens?
