Quad-Core Sony Xperia Z Due To Launch In January Before Galaxy S4 and the New iPhone

We've heard so much about this device, that we could probably write a book about it. The Sony Yuga has been in the rumor mill for quite a while now. It's also been named the Sony Xperia Z now, and we should see it at CES next month. Now the latest rumor is telling us that the Xperia Z will be launching one week after CES. That might be the fastest launch for a device shown off at CES ever. The Consumer Electronics Show will be taking place January 8th to the 11th in Las Vegas, and we expect to see plenty from Sony, Huawei, ZTE and others that are trying to get their foot in the door of the US market.

The rumored specs for the Sony Xperia Z are:

  • 5-inch full HD 1920x1080 resolution, 1080p display
  • quad-core processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • Micro SD card slot
  • 13MP camera

That's all we know so far for the specs of the Xperia Z. Now those could be right on target, they could also be very wrong. But judging by other leaks and recently launched devices, it sounds right on target.

Currently ePrice is still claiming that the Xperia Z is going to be launched on January 15th. Which is a week after CES begins in Vegas. The only thing we are hoping for is that it doesn't disappoint and that it'll be available on all the major carriers. Wouldn't that be a step in the right direction?

With the Galaxy S4 not due out until April or later, and the new iPhone (iPhone 5S or whatever) coming out whenever Apple wants more money, the Xperia Z looks to beat them both to the market. Which will be a big hit for Sony, that's if Sony can get their customers support. I know many people that want a Sony phone, but when it becomes available, will they actually buy it?

The Sony Xperia Z, would you buy it? Let us know in the comments below.
