New Google TV Box, Hisense Pulse Now On Sale for $99

Who says Google TV has to be expensive? Well if you're looking for a Google TV box, there's now a second choice for cheap Google TV boxes. We've had the Vizio Co-star which retails at $99, and now we've got the Hisense Pulse which also retails at $99. Both of these boxes feature similar specs and functionality. So it's kinda hard to tell which one is the better value for your hard earned cash.

So far there are very few details about the Hisense Pulse, but we do know it has a remote complete with a microphone that will most likely work with Google TV voice actions at some point in the future. Recently, Google TV got access to Google Play which means you have access to your music, movies and TV shows. Although Google TV app support is pretty bad right now. There's only a handful of apps that support the Google TV platform. These include YouTube and the official Twitter app. You're also got Plex which is a great app for Google TV, some might call it a must have for Google TV owners.

Google has kind of abandoned the Google TV platform, or at least that's how it seems. Instead they attempted to focus on the Nexus Q which failed before it even went on sale. But even without Google's help, these $99 devices will certainly attract more people to use Google TV. It's pretty much a no brainer since these boxes work with nearly any TV.

So if you're one of those waiting til the last minute to get Christmas gifts, this might be a good one. Both the Vizio Co-Star and the Hisense Pulse are available on Amazon with free 2-day shipping for Amazon Prime customers. So if you order today, you should get them in time for Christmas.
