21 Days of Android Gifts: Day #21: SONR Labs Speaker Dock

The world of speaker docks is not one particularly open to us Android users, when compared to the amount of options out there for our iPhone touting friend it seems that Android is to be left out in the cold this Christmas. However, it's not all bad, as there are options out there for Android users looking to play their music loud and clear from their phones. We've been covering the leaks of a Samsung speaker dock that's pegged to break cover at CES come January next year.

There are a few options out there that try to be "universal" docks for Android devices, Philips make a handul in their Fidelio range – I own the AS111 and enjoy it all the time and it worked with my One X and my Nexus S but it is a little fiddly. With the SONR Lavs Speaker Dock there are two things you need to take care of, just a 3.5mm cable and a microUSB cable for charging. A setup like this might not scream quality or anything like that but it certainly does make for a quick connection to get the tunes pumping. It's not exactly cheap but, for what you pay for you get a pretty big dock that will more than fill a small room and perhaps even do well enough at parties and gatherings. For those what specifics, there are 2 x 3 watt speakers and a 10 watt sub-woofer at the rear to bring the overall sound together. There's even a remote to go with it all.

Christmas is right around the corner and if you still haven't done all your shopping yet then not only are you going to be doing a whole lot of wrapping tomorrow night but, you'll be making excuses on presents that are yet to arrive. I know I might be in the minority here but if someone were to tell me this was my Christmas present I'd have to wait for then, I'd be happy to wait. This is the last of our Android gift ideas but, you can still take a look at our Buying Guide for some more ideas.

From all of us at Android Headlines we wish you a Happy Christmas and hope that you'll be safe and have a lot of fun with your families!

Former Editor-in-Chief

For years now I've had a heavy interest in technology, growing up with 8-bit computers and gaming consoles has fed into an addiction to everything that beeps. Android saved me from the boredom of iOS years ago and I love watching the platform grow. As an avid reader and writer nothing pleases me more than to write about the exciting world of Android, Google and mobile technology as a whole.
