At Motorola and Verizon's event today, Eric Schmidt was on hand to announce that Google is activating over 1.3 million new devices daily. And to add to the daily 1.3 million activated devices, there are over 480 million devices being used around the world.
So let's put this in perspective, back in June at Google I/O it was announced that Android was at 1 million daily activations and 400 million total active devices. Now just over 2 months later, it has increased to 80 million devices. So how many of those are Nexus 7's?
Android is steadily growing like crazy, and these patent lawsuits by Apple are helping Android grow even faster. In fact since the verdict of the Apple v. Samsung case a couple weeks ago, the Galaxy S3 has out sold the iPhone. Take that Apple! Now Motorola just announced 3 more devices that should put the number up to about 1.5 million daily activations before the end of the year.
