Featured: ASUS denies that it's working on a sub-$100 Nexus Tablet

Yesterday, rumors were running around that ASUS and Google were working on a $99 Nexus 7 device. The rumor started from Digitimes which doesn't have the best track record with rumors. Today ASUS came out and told Digitimes that they are not working on a $99 Nexus 7. Which makes a whole lot of sense to me, since Google and ASUS are already selling the Nexus 7 at cost, and barely making a dime on this great tablet.

Now there was also another rumor from Digitimes that an ultra-thin Nexus 7 would take over at the $199 price-point. ASUS did not say anything about that rumor. So perhaps we could see a new Nexus 7 this fall as one of the 5 Nexus devices due to hit soon?

With the new Kindle Fire now out, and at a cheaper price than the Nexus 7, is Google going to see if they can beat Amazon and their Kindle Fire again? Could we see a great Nexus tablet at a $149 price point? There is a reason why the Nexus 7 is still at the top of our Top 10 Android Tablets list, which we published earlier this week. What are your thoughts on all of this?
