It's been a long-standing franchise in the movie biz for as long as I can remember. Iconic actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Segourney Weaver pioneered Alien and Predator films into extreme popularity, only to leave a legacy of sometimes poorly done sequels in their wake. The franchise wasn't without its videogame counterparts and perhaps for me, the excitement comes from seeing Prometheus, which helped me relive the great moments I had watching those older films, and actually has me wanting to play the games. While the movies may have fallen off a bit, the games have almost always been quite fun. They have been around for almost as long as the movie franchise and most of them provide great first person shooter gameplay. Just like the old jaguar version of the game you can play in three different campaign modes, where you play as Alien, Predator, or human. Choose you faction and reign chaos upon your enemies.
The good thing is, that soon you'll be able to enjoy the monstrous fun of alienating your enemies and tearing them apart once again, but this time on the go and anywhere you need a fix. Angry Mob games, the developers behind popular titles like Guerrilla Bob and Muffin Knight have accepted this huge undertaking of fleshing out an Android version of Alien vs Predator. For once, I'm actually extremely excited about a game on Android that is based off of a movie franchise. The game is due out sometime during the month of November, and may be just what you need to sit through those boring talks with family you never see while migrating around a table full of food. The game will be powered by the undoubtedly powerful and impressive Unity engine, which you might remember from other great Android titles like idk... say... Shadowgun? Yes with unity on board we can certainly expect great visuals.
To make sure you don't get bored too quickly, the game will be set with 21 different stages, allowing you to play as both Alien and Predator races while harnessing all of each characters powerful abilities. You can definitely bet we'll see some camouflage action going on. Maybe some acid spit, some heat vision and some tail whips. The greatest addition to this game however would be a lovely cameo from Arnold himself, which would give it just a bit of comic relief. All I can hope for is that Angry mob will try to make use of some of the more powerful processors out there and give it some optimized support for tegra 3 and other high-end graphics chips. We have no idea when the exact release date is, or what the gameplay might be like. Angry mob has yet to let down its fan base though so high hopes are definitely there.
