Featured: Dead Trigger Is Now Free To Download Due To Unbelievably High Piracy Rate

Dead Trigger by Madfinger studios was recently updated, The new update brought in new weapons, gadgets, levels and even a few new zombies as well. However, the new update didn't only bring these new features, it also took away the $0.99 price. The game is now available for free on Google Play. Well, some people who paid a buck for the game were pretty upset with this decision that they left 1-star reviews on the apps official Play store page. Madfinger apologized about the situation and issued a new statement stating the real reason behind the price change that is "Unbelievably high piracy rate". Check out the official statement by Madfinger below.

Regarding price drop. HERE is our statement. The main reason: piracy rate on Android devices, that was unbelievably high. At first we intend to make this game available for as many people as possible - that's why it was for as little as buck. - It was much less than 8$ for SHADOWGUN but on the other hand we didn't dare to provide it for free, since we hadn't got XP with free-to-play format so far. - However, even for one buck, the piracy rate is soooo giant, that we finally decided to provide DEAD TRIGGER for free. Anyway - DEAD TRIGGER is not FREEMIUM, it always was and still remains FREE-TO-PLAY, that means, all players are able to play it without IAP! We stand up for this statement, because all members of our team are playing (and enjoying) DEAD TRIGGER without IAP.

Madfinger clearly stresses in their statement that Dead Trigger is a free-to-play game and it doesn't require any in-app purchase to advance or beat the game. This is rather disappointing for the developers, if people can't even spare a buck for a great game like this then why would developers release their games/apps on the platform. Whenever you buy a great game for $0.99, it is not going to make the developers millionaires overnight but it is a small donation and a token of appreciation for releasing a great game.
