Toshiba annonce a little while ago that they'd be bringing a new range of tablets to market under the "Excite" moniker. With three tablets sized at 7.7, 10.1 and a massive 13.3 inches Toshiba wants to bring a complete range of sizes to the market. It's certainly not a bad strategy - especially seeing as their new design scales well - meaning that they'll be able to cover the vast majority of the tablet market without having a silly number of models on the shelf, you hear me, Samsung?
All the tablets will have Tegra 3 onboard, ensuring that they'll be power-efficient and able to play all the games you could want. Thankfully they all come with what looks to be a relatively stock build of Ice Cream Sandwich. The 7.7 in particular comes with a 1280x800 AMOLED display making that a good proposition for those who want just a tad more screen estate in their jacket pocket. The tablet that I - and a lot more of you out there - are looking forward to most however, is the massive Toshiba Excite 13. At first my reaction was more 'Really, Toshiba, you want me to use this?" than "Thing of how much I could get done on that screen!" but, I soon came round to the latter - I'm a big lover of the 7" form factor and love my little Acer but, I bought it to replace a laptop and when I'm at home it can be a little awkward, it's fantastic out and about for sure. If I could get a tablet with a massive screen then I'd have the ultimate couch-surfing machine right there, not to mention I'd probably get more done it as I find soft keyboards okay on the 7 so with 13.3-inches to play I with my typo tendency should plummet. The Excite 13 also crams in four SRS speakers into its large footprint, making media sharing with friends and family even easier - think magical YouTube machine here, folks.
The Toshiba Excite 13 has recently just passed its way through the FCC on its stop off to its June release, confirming what we already knew about the tablet. The pricing for the Toshiba Excite 13 has already been set at $649.99 and $749.99 for the 32GB and 64GB models respectively.
