Featured: Sony Continues Push ICS Updates But Confirms No Update For Xperia Play

Sony has been rather good as of late with keeping everyone in the loop on their upgrade process to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. They however made a change to the list yesterday removing the Xperia Play or PlayStation Phone. Sony later confirmed that the device will not see the OS upgrade stating,

A consistent and stable experience, particularly with gaming, cannot be guaranteed for this smartphone on Ice Cream Sandwich... in this instance the ICS upgrade would have compromised stability.

This has to be bad news for many who were told by Sony that their entire 2011 Smartphone lineup would receive the upgrade to ICS. The rest of the list should be seeing their upgrades around the end of June, so this is bad news for some and good news for others.
